Volunteer

volunteerWhen people join Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church, they pledge to support the church through their prayers, presence, gifts, service, and witness. Through serving we glorify God, build up the church body and reach out to others.

All staff and volunteers who work with children and youth are subject to screening and are in compliance with Wesley Monumental’s Safe Sanctuaries Policy

Below are some current volunteer opportunities we hope you will consider.

Children's Choir Volunteers Needed

You do not need to be musical!

Mrs. Monica and Mrs. Charli need volunteers on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. for children’s choir.  You do not need to be musical, we only need you to assist our leaders who are already in place, and love our children who love to sing!!  Please contact monica@wesleymonumental.org.

Visitor and New Member Welcoming

Need: new member shepherds, writing notes to visitors, delivering gift sacks to visitors

We have some volunteer opportunities involving visitors and new members.  First, we need some shepherds for our next New Member Class.  As a shepherd you will stand up with your assigned new member when they join, and you will encourage them to join in the activities of the church by inviting them to join you as you participate.  For our visitors, we need people who are willing to write notes and/or to deliver gift sacks to church visitors’ homes.

If interested in any of these opportunities, please contact Nelle Bordeaux.

Docents - A Great Way to Meet People

Need: Church Docents

Our church has an extremely interesting history as it pertains to Savannah, the United States, the world and United Methodism as a whole. Every week some of us have the opportunity to tell that story to people who are visiting our lovely city. Sometimes we get to tell it on Sundays after one of the services, and other times we tell it on Friday mornings between 10:00 a.m. and 12 noon. Serving as a Docent is fun and interesting. You never know who you’re going to meet  during those brief encounters, but they are all part of God’s “guest list.” We invite you to volunteer to be a Docent. We welcome men and women, young and senior, single or married.

Please call the church office (232-0191) if interested.

8:45 Service Volunteers

Need: 8:45 Offering Stewards/Greeters/Ushers

We’re looking for “morning” people who just love getting up early and starting the day. The 8:45 Offering Steward/Greeter/Usher volunteer list is just way too short. The members have been serving regularly and do a wonderful job but would welcome a few more members. Why not consider starting your Sunday by attending 8:45 worship and serving as an Offering Steward, a Greeter or an Usher? Contact Daphne or call 232-0191 if you’d like to join this group.
