Kindergarten through Third Grade
As our children begin elementary school, we guide them in worship, study, play, service, and growing in understanding of what it means to be a child of God.
Whether our friends attend Sunday School, Children’s Choir, special events, or everything, they hear the message that they are loved by God. They also learn how to serve others, how to begin using their Bibles, and continue to build on a solid faith foundation.
All staff and volunteers who work with children and youth are subject to screening and are in compliance with Wesley Monumental’s Safe Sanctuaries policy.
Sunday School
In early elementary school, we begin using a multi-sensory approach to engage our children and allow them to see, feel, hear, and retell the stories of the Bible. Our goal is to extend and deepen the children’s understanding of the relationship between God and his people through every story and topic we cover.
Children’s Worship
Children’s Worship is held during the 8:45 and 11 a.m. Worship Services. It is based on the Scripture reading for the day. During this time, we learn how worship is a special time with God, and we plan and create our own worship experience. Children are invited to leave the Sanctuary for Children’s Worship after the Children’s Sermon.
Children’s Choir
The Children’s Choir is for children in first grade and above. We sing a lot of fun songs together as we memorize hymns and gain skills such as reading music. The Children’s Choir also takes part in special events, concerts, and Worship Services on occasion.
