Early Childhood
For Children Three Years Old through Pre-Kindergarten
Wesley Monumental’s programs and activities for our youngest children continue to draw young families to our church family year after year. When we baptize babies, we promise to help their parents raise them in faith. And we take this promise seriously!
While it’s important to teach children about God, we find it’s even more important to inspire them to know God. We strive to help our children come to know God personally through Jesus Christ, to reach out to others through service opportunities, and to make the Bible a part of their everyday lives.
All staff and volunteers who work with children and youth are subject to screening and are in compliance with Wesley Monumental’s Safe Sanctuaries policy.
Sunday School
Our early childhood friends encounter God with sight, hearing, and touch through fun and engaging storytelling. We spend time learning how to recognize sacred time and space, so our children become comfortable using our time together to worship and praise God. Children’s Sunday School classes take place in the Education Building behind the Sanctuary.
Children’s Worship
Children’s Worship is held during the 8:45 and 11 a.m. Worship Services. It is based on the Scripture reading for the day. During this time, we learn how worship is a special time with God, and we plan and create our own worship experience. Children are invited to leave the Sanctuary for Children’s Worship after the Children’s Sermon.
Joyful Noise Choir
The Joyful Noise Choir is a fun way for children ages three through Kindergarten to learn the basics of music. We meet and sing together on Wednesday nights during the school year.
Eli’s Place
Wesley Monumental UMC’s Early Learning Center, called Eli’s Place, provides programs for children eight weeks old through pre-kindergarten. Children may attend Eli’s Place during the school year, and they may participate in one or more weeks of Summer Camp from June through August.
