Adult Mission Trip

Mayfield, Kentucky Adult Mission Trip: August 22-27, 2022
August 22-27, Wesley members Ann and Melvin Croft, Corie Turley, Pat Monahan, Joel Hayes, and Scott Cleaveland are joining other United Methodist congregations of the Coastal District. Working through Mayfield FUMC and Trinity UMC (Mayfield), we will be sheet rocking the interior of newly constructed homes, replacing ones destroyed in the December 2021 tornadoes that tore through Central Kentucky. The homeowners being served are the elderly, disabled or veterans whose homeowners insurance and FEMA support did not come close to the cost of rebuilding. Twenty-five families of Mayfield FUMC alone, had their homes obliterated. Through the 2021 Christmas offering, Wesley provided $15,000 in aid immediately following the tornadoes. The Coastal District of the South Georgia Conference is providing another $10,000 towards construction costs. This is the connectionalism of the United Methodist Church at its best.
