Dear Wesley Monumental Church Family,
It struck me this week hearing the term COVID “19” that we are quickly arriving at 2022. The pandemic has changed so much about our world and daily lives. At Wesley we have been constantly conscious of the risks posed and ways in which we could continue our ministry in the safest way possible. The last two months have finally brought a steady decline in all COVID numbers in our area after the summer Delta variant surge. We believe it is time for us to update our COVID guidelines to reflect where we are currently. Beginning this Sunday:
We will return to a “mask optional for fully vaccinated people” policy in worship. If you are unvaccinated, please for your safety and the safety of others, wear a mask in worship. Nobody will ask you at the door, we trust all of us to love our neighbor. Because children are not yet vaccinated, for their safety 3 year olds and up will be asked to continue wearing a mask, as will the staff and volunteers working with them.
We will also return more seating to every pew to continue to better accommodate our growing in person attendance. We will maintain socially distant (every other pew) seating on the front half of each of the two side sections downstairs for those who prefer more space. The balcony always afford room for you to find socially distant seating without having to designate the pews as such.
We will also return to the altar for normal serving of communion this Sunday. The staff will mask and sanitize our hands before we begin and will hand you the elements at the rail. If you prefer to remain in your seat, prepackaged communion will be available in the narthex when you arrive, please take as many as you need with you to your seat.
During the Sunday School hour we will add some light breakfast refreshments to our coffee table in the Fellowship Hall.
Thank you for your cooperation in making our worship, study, service, and fellowship a safe and meaningful experience.
