One of things Lost and Found Student Ministry has to be about is the Mission of God. We want to be involved in what God is doing in the world! That guides our mission focus, both locally and internationally. The words “mission work” cover a wide range of activities; listed below is a sampling of the projects in which we are involved.
People Helping People
Throughout 2010 our students will work alongside other denominations to provide food for a non-denominational organization called People Serving People. This organization exists to end hunger in the Savannah area. Every Sunday, People Serving People feed over 300 hungry neighbors from the Savannah area from 12:45pm-2:30pm. One Sunday a month we will cook food at 8:30am in the church kitchen, then attend the 11:00am service, and at 12:45pm head over to Forsyth Park. Dates will be announced in January.
Compassion International Child Sponsorship
This June, our student ministry decided as a whole to sponsor a child, Shalin Alam, from Bangladesh. There is a constant need for donations to support his sponsorship, and it is important that we do not forget to give to this cause. Furthermore, notes, pictures, letters, and care packages are ways to support Shalim. We want him to know that students in at Wesley Monumental UMC in Savannah, Georgia, are thinking about him and praying for him!
