Wesley Monumental holds two worship services on Sunday mornings. Our 8:45 service is a smaller, more intimate gathering. Music is provided by our organist Monica Harper, as well as soloists, but there is no choir. Our 11:00 service is the larger of the two and features our choir, along with occasional guest musicians. This service also includes a children’s sermon, after which children are dismissed for Children’s Church. For younger children, a nursery is provided at both services. Morning worship at Wesley Monumental follows the liturgical calendar and is centered on the festive days of Christmas and Easter. For each of these festivals, there is a season of preparation, a season of celebration, and a season of growth. Over the course of the year, the colors in our sanctuary will change to mark the changing liturgical seasons. These colors indicate the tone or emphasis of worship on any particular day.
White is also used for other special festive days such as Epiphany and Christ the King Sundays. We celebrate Communion (also known as the Lord’s Supper or the Eucharist) on the first Sunday of each month. All who call upon the name of the Lord or wish to be his disciples are welcome at the Table, regardless of denomination or affiliation. We receive Communion at the altar rail. At the 11:00 service, an usher will provide you with direction. |
