The church is not just a group of people who gather to worship, but is a large family joined together by the love of Christ. We pray for one another and care for each other when needs arise. Wesley Monumental is blessed with several active ministries that touch lives in this congregation. From those who are struggling with sickness to our members who cannot be with us in worship because of physical or mental difficulties, we strive to bear the love of God into every place where there is need. For more information about these ministries, please contact Rev. Alex Tracy
Care and Share
Care and Share is a ministry that reaches out to our homebound members through regular visits. Our “Very Special Persons” also receive remembrances for their birthdays, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Care and Share meets one Tuesday per month at 10:30 AM (location varies)
Prayer Shawl Ministry
When people are going through difficult times, whether it be the death of a loved one or a personal illness, our Prayer Shawl ministry quite literally wraps them in a symbol of God’s love and our congregation’s prayers. All those with skill in knitting or crochet are welcome. The prayer shawl ministry meets on Wednesdays at 3:00 in room 305.
Extending the Table
On Sundays when we celebrate Communion, members of Wesley fan out to take the sacrament to those who could not be with us in worship. In doing so, they connect our experience at the Lord’s Supper to our shut-ins and others. Our church family is large, and includes people who might not be able to join us on a Sunday morning! Those who wish to volunteer for this ministry need to be able to make visits on Sunday afternoon; consecrated elements (the bread and cup) cannot be kept overnight.
