The purpose of United Methodist Women is “to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.” UMW is especially interested in making life better for women, children, youth, and marginalized neighbors in the global village of today’s world. Each year, mission studies are offered in the areas of spiritual growth, a geographic area, and a current issue. The 2010 studies are: • For the Love of God: John’s Letters • “The Beauty and Courage of Sudan” • Mission and Evangelism Small groups offer a time and place to develop meaningful relationships with God and others. Meetings always include food, laughter, study, prayer, and service. Visitors are always welcome! Our UMW has five small groups (circles) which meet at the following times: • Courtney K. Gaines: 3rd Monday at 2:00 p.m. • Jane Shirah: 4th Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. • Joy: 4th Monday at 2:00 p.m. • Pacesetters: monthly on Monday evenings • Susanna Wesley: 2nd Monday at 6:00 p.m. For more information, please contact Rev.
