1. Where can I park?During business hours, Wesley Monumental has two parking lots available for our use. The entire lot on Wayne street reserved for members and visitors; in the Gordon Street lot, the spaces that face Drayton Street are similarly reserved (the other spaces in this lot are reserved for our neighboring businesses during operating hours, but are available to us after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends). There are a number of metered spaces on adjacent streets; these are free after 5:00 p.m. and on weekends. On Sundays, cars may park on Calhoun square, except on the corners. There is a bicycle rack on Abercorn Street to the right of the church (next to the east side of the Espy House).2. How can I get into your building during the week? Our offices are located on Wayne Street, facing the side of the church (entrance is under the green awning). If you need to access the main church building, please use the doorbell to request access.3. Is the sanctuary open for tours?Until our renovation construction is complete (hopefully early summer of 2011), the sanctuary is only open on Fridays from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Docents are also available following our Sunday morning worship services at 9:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m.4. Can I have my wedding at Wesley Monumental? The pastors and staff of Wesley Monumental are happy to talk with you about your wedding. Our facilities are available for weddings for both church members and non-members. (PLEASE NOTE: Due to construction, we will not be holding any non-member weddings until July 2011.) This facility provides a number of unique opportunities for our congregation. For more information, please click here.6. What opportunities are available for my children? We have a fully graded Sunday School program for Kindergarten through 12th grade. We also have a very active youth group for those in 7th-12th grade. It is quite popular for tours to point out our “Tiffany stained-glass windows” in our sanctuary. We have been unable to determine definitively whether they are, in fact, Tiffany windows; some documents mention “European stained-glass windows,” instead. We are constantly looking for documentation that might settle this debate. If you have any information or documentation on our stained-glass windows, please contact us. |
