SUNDAY SCHOOL

For many children, youth and adults, friendships within the congregation begin and flourish in Sunday School. Good teaching, service projects and class socials aim to nurture Christian growth. During the summer months, Kindergarten - fifth grade meet for "Summer Sunday School", a learning center-based curriculum. Adult classes provide dinner prior to evening worship services at Wesley Gardens. A Nursery is provided at both the 8:45 a.m. and the 11:00 a.m. services. Please see our classes listed below:


ADULT CLASSES

The Fellowship Class gathers around the coffee pot in the Fellowship Hall before beginning with hymn singing and announcements at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel. Teachers rotate lesson assignments in the Adult Bible Lessons. These mostly retired folks live up to their name with outside social gatherings.

The Alpha Class meets in Room 301 and begins class with coffee and announcements. This class of middle aged couples and singles rotates teaching assignments. Bible series and topical issues are studied. Lively discussions are common. Socials are held quarterly and several mission areas are supported.

The Ivy Class is a close-knit group of couples and singles, many with children in high school and college. Class members rotate teaching topics which range from Bible study to family related issues. Socials are held on a regular basis. Room 304.

The Epworth Class meets in Room 302 and teachers rotate duties. Subjects range from Bible study to social issues. This class of younger couples and singles balance mission and social priorities.

The Asbury Class meets in the Library and members roatate teaching duties. This class of young couples and singles studies topical and Biblical material. It focuses on specific mission projects and gathers for socials.

The Senter II Class is for singles and couples entering the job market. It meets in room 305. Ash Grimmett and Anne Thompson lead this lively group.

The College Class meets on Thursday evenings for dinner with Joe Harwell. Students from local colleges enjoy the opportunity to make faith a part of their college experience.

YOUTH

The 9th - 12th Grade Class is taught by Byron Boyd. The youth participate in a lively bible study and discussion. Students gather at 9:45 a.m. in Room 405.

The 7th and 8th Grade Class meets in Room 406 and is taught by Rob Wolz. This group studies Bible Studies for Youth.

CHILDREN

Three & Four Year Olds meet in room 203 and are taught by Sarah Doyle, Rebecca Haynes, Karen Kilhefner, Laura Mattocks, Janice Michaels, Patsy Robinson,and Danny & Audrey Tomlinson.

Kindergarten & 1st Grade meets in Room 206 and is taught by Diane Cook, Grace Gattis, Lori Miller, and Meb Ryan.

Second & Third Grade meets in Room 201 and is taught by Joanne Faulk and Pam Culberson.

Fourth & Fifth Grade meets in Room 202 and is taught by Diane Boyd.

Sixth Grade meets in Room 204 and is taught by Marion Thomas.

Children's Church meets in room 206 following the Children's Sermon during the 11:00 worship service. Parents and other interested adults alternate teaching children ages 3 - 5.

First Graders meet in the fall for Worship Education to prepare for worship participation.

Kindgergarten - rising 6th grade meet for Summer Sunday School on the second floor during June, July, and August.

Each June, children ages 4 through entering 6th grade go to Wesley Gardens for an exciting, fun-filled week of Vacation Bible School. Click here for pictures of this year's session.
